Lyles's awe-inspiring treble of 100m, 200m, and 4x100m gold medals makes him the first American to win three gold medals at a World Championships since Tyson Gay and Allyson Felix in 2007.
He is also the first male sprinter to do the sprint double since Usain Bolt in 2015.
With the women's team taking gold as well, it is the first time the United States has won the men's and women's 4x100m relays at the same World Championships or Olympics since Osaka 2007.
