Kishane Thompson became Jamaica's fastest man for the second consecutive year after winning the 100m national title in a PB and world leading time.
Olympic silver medallist Kishane Thompson dropped one of the easiest performances in sprint history after effortlessly blasting to a new Personal Best (PB) and world-leading time to win his second consecutive Jamaican 100m title.
Competing against the best Jamaican sprinters this season in the men's 100m final, Thompson showed he's class apart from the rest of the field right from the blast of the gun, having a near-perfect start and holding his form to the finish line to stop the clock in a new PB of 9.75s (0.8).
)
Oblique Seville, who in the semifinal laid down the gauntlet that he's also in great shape, having equaled the then world lead of 9.84s in the semifinals, settled for second in a Season's Best (SB) of 9.83s, while Ackeem Blake was third in 9.88s as the trio booked their spots in the Jamaican team to the World Championships in Tokyo.
Thompson's winning time now makes him the sixth fastest man in history and can arguably be described as one of the easiest 9.75s ever.
