BOOM! Elaine Thompson-Herah blazes to her first sub-11s of the season, clocks 10.92s

Double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah is gradually getting back to her best, clocking her first sub-11s of the season to win the women's 100m event at the Galà dei Castelli meet in Switzerland.

The Jamaican sprint legend blazed to a fast 10.92s (0.0), ahead of Great Britain's Imani Lansiquot, who sped to her a Personal Best (PB) of 10.99s, while Gambia's Gina Bass was third in 11.12s.

It's a vital win and confidence-boosting performance for Thompson-Herah, having had a rough patch this season that sadly saw her not make the Jamaican individual team to the World Championships in Budapest.

In her first race since Budapest at the Zurich Diamond League, she finished third in a then SB of 11.00s behind world champion Sha'Carri Richardson (10.88s) and compatriot Natasha Morrison (11.00s).

After her race in an interview with nationwideradiojm.com, Thompson-Herah said believing in herself was a key factor in her improved performance.

 "I ran an SB, I know where I want to be. I think patience and time for me is the most thing I'm using now and to believe in myself," she said.

Her patience and belief in her talent are paying off, as the fastest woman alive will have lots of positives to take from before the season ends as she works towards defending her titles at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
