Tunisia, one of Nigeria’s opponents in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage continued their strong run of form by holding five-time world champions Brazil to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly on Tuesday.

The result extends the Carthage Eagles’ six-match unbeaten streak, consisting of four wins and two draws, a run that signals their growing confidence ahead of the AFCON campaign.

Tunisia and Nigeria's Super Eagles have been drawn into the same group (Group C) for the AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco, with their match scheduled for December 27.

Tunisia 1-1 Brazil

Tunisia opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, capitalising on a defensive lapse to take a surprising lead.

However, Brazil responded just before halftime, with Chelsea’s young sensation Estevão Willian converting from the penalty spot to make it 1-1.

The Selecao had a golden chance to win the game in the 78th minute, but West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá missed his penalty, allowing Tunisia to hold on for a memorable draw.

The Super Eaglee will battle Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania in Group C when the 35th AFCON finals kick off in Morocco in December.
