Who are the first players to arrive in Uyo as Super Eagles camp opens for World Cup qualifiers
The Super Eagles have officially opened their camp in Uyo for the important 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with three players among the first to arrive.
Captain William Troost-Ekong, defender Bruno Onyemaechi, and goalkeeper Amas Obasogie were the first to breeze into the team's Four Points by Sheraton hotel on Monday morning.

The Coach and the opponents
The team, led by head coach Eric Chelle, is preparing for the Group C qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
The matches are seen as pivotal to the team's hopes of securing a ticket to the expanded 2026 World Cup in North America.
Nigeria is currently in a difficult position in the group and needs to secure maximum points in these fixtures to revive its campaign.
First training and squad details
The three early arrivals will be joined by the rest of the 23-man squad later today as they begin preparations.
The team is scheduled to hold its first official training session on Tuesday at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
