Super Falcons forward Oshoala was a second half substitute as Barcelona Femeni took a huge towards reaching the UEFA Women’s Champions League, UWCL, final.

Barcelona are a step closer to the UWCL final after a slim 1-0 victory against Chelsea Women at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Oshoala played for just six minutes after she replaced teammate and goalscorer Caroline Hansen in the 84th minute of their narrow win over Chelsea.

Caroline Hansen netted the decisive goal as early as the fourth minute as the LaLiga ensured they return to Spain with a deserved advantage.

Oshoala’s cameo

After impressing in the last game, the 28-year-old Super Falcons star was a substitute as Barcelona looked to secure a place in the UWCL final.

Oshoala scored one and assisted another in a 5-1 win over Roma but was dropped for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

She did come on late on in the game but did not have enough time to make any impact as the Catalans held on for a narrow win. 

Barcelona were the dominant side on the day and deserved their win over the Blues, who will be grateful not to have lost by a wider margin.

The Catalans had 70% of the possession, created the most chances and had 15 attempts compared to Chelsea’s seven.

Both sides will meet again in the second leg next week in what will be the decider at the Spotify Camp Nou.
