Umar Sadiq rocks Real Sociedad with goal of the season contender

Nigeria international Umar Sadiq sent shockwaves through Real Sociedad and the football world after he scored a stunning goal against Sevilla.

Sadiq netted what could be described as the goal of the season contender as Real Sociedad defeated Sevilla 2-1 in a LALIGA clash on  Sunday.

The 24-year-old finally announced himself to the Sociedad fans after a sensational goal to get off the mark for the club. 

Marko Dmitrovic's own goal gave the visitors an early lead to put Sociedad in control after just five minutes.

Umar’s moment arrived courtesy of a solo effort when the Super Eagles striker was allowed to drive from the centre circle and into the Sevilla half and at goal.

Yet to open his count for the season, the former Almeria found the space and time to unleash the unstoppable rocket from a range that left everyone including his teammates stunned.

It was the perfect way to score your first goal of the season and it turned out to be the winner despite Sevilla pulling one back through Moroccan star En-Nesyri. 

Meanwhile, things would go from bad to worse when the hosts were reduced to nine men after red cards to Jesus Navas and Sergio Ramos.
