Fraser-Pryce brought the curtains down on her 18-year track career at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo in September, completing with a silver medal in the 4x100m relay.

It was a rewarding career that saw her win over 30 medals across different competitions, among them five world titles and two Olympics golds, and she is grateful that she remained on top of her game for so many years.

Now, as she begins to come to terms with life as a retired athlete, the 38-year-old says her businesses are among the beneficiaries of her retirement besides her son as she now has time to fully dedicate on them to ensure that they are profitable.

“I got a chance to really inspire different athletes to know that it doesn’t really matter where they fall in life,” Fraser-Pryce told India’s Sports Star.

“There’s always a way to rise after a setback. For me, right now, it’s really just readjusting and understanding that you might be finished but there is still work that I do outside the track.

“I need to work on the business side of Fraser-Pryce. I need to work on my foundation and I really need to work on being a mom. I’m really just being a mom right now. I’m giving my son the 100 per cent that I’ve given to track.”

Fraser-Pryce is already a thriving entrepreneur who has invested in AFIMi, a haircare line that was launched in July 2024, and was promoted in the US early this year, as well as her salon and the Pocket Rocket Foundation.

AFIMI offers an all-natural plant-based line of hair products, including conditioner, shampoo, hair serum, styling cream, and scalp balm, going in line with the sprinter’s love for hair.

Fraser-Pryce also has the Chic Hair Ja salon in Kingston which besides making women look beautiful, also retails virgin hair and products to care for these extensions.

Mommy Rocket’s most treasured venture is one that does not make money for her but sees her give back to society, the Pocket Rocket Foundation.

Started in 2013, the Pocket Rocket Foundation is aimed at giving needy but bright students full scholarships in Jamaica and has been growing in stature since giving scholarships to seven students in its first year and by 2024, it broke a record, offering 20 scholarships to needy students.
