Richardson remains one of the biggest names in track and even after a less than impressive 2025 season, she is keen to ensure 2026 and beyond is fruitful.

The 25-year-old missed out on an individual medal at the 2025 World Championships when she failed to defend her 100m crown although she made it up by anchoring Team USA to the 4x100m relay gold.

Richardson’s season was also disrupted by off the track issues like her arrest over a scuffle with boyfriend Christian Coleman at an airport just before the US trials but the Texas native has vowed to set the bar high because she wants to leave a rich legacy behind.

What Has Richardson Said?

“Dream big. Move with purpose. Believe in yourself. Our generation is reaching higher so the next generation knows there are no limits,” Richardson posted on Instagram. “Ready, set, dream,” she added.

The 2023 world 100m champion is back in training as she prepares for the 2026 season when she will be looking to stop compatriot and training mate Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, who swept all sprint titles at the World Championships this year.

Richardson did not win any of her races this year as she struggled in the 100m and missed a 200m ticket to the World Championships, having medaled in both events in Budapest two years ago.

She had her worst outing at the Prefontaine Classic in July when she finished last in the 100m.
