Samuel Ogazi x Adidas: Nigerian teen Olympic star signs NIL deal with sports giant company
Nigerian teen sensation Samuel Ogazi has signed a groundbreaking NIL deal with Adidas, which will see him represent the sports giant company while still a college student at the University of Alabama.
Ogazi is one of Nigeria's brightest rising stars tipped for global greatness, following his 2024 season's exploits highlighted by getting to the Men's 400m final at the Paris Olympic Games, becoming the first Nigerian male quarter-miler in 36 years to achieve such feat.
In addition, he clocked a blistering new personal best of 44.41s in Paris - the fastest ever by a Nigerian U20 and second-fastest in Nigerian history, while going under the sub-45s mark a whooping six times this season.
Ogazi's meteoric progression in the last couple of years ranks him highly as a future world and Olympic medallist, which Adidas has seen in him and hopped in to support his dreams.
The 18-year-old will still continue his college scholarship at the University of Alabama as the NIL deal with Adidas only supports part of his financial needs until he turns professional.
