Report: Club leadership meets with Man United players to discuss Amorim's future
The Manchester United hierarchy reportedly contacted the higher-ranking members of the squad to discuss Ruben Amorim's future.
The enquiry was led by the club's CEO, Omar Berrada, and the director of football, Jason Wilcox. They spoke to senior members of the squad, including captain Bruno Fernandes, to gauge their thoughts on Amorim's tenure.
United squad verdict on Amorim
According to ESPN, Wilcox and Berrada sought to gauge the dressing room's response to Amorim’s methods.
The responses they got were said to have matched the public statements from the players on Amorim, reinforcing INEOS’s trust in his continuation.
The likes of Mathijs de Ligt, Mason Mount, and Bruno have all, at some point, defended Amorim publicly. And per the report, they also informed Berrada and Wilcox that they trusted Amorim.
Despite the sentiments, however, the results have to start coming in, or the club's leadership will have no choice but to terminate his employment. Amorim himself admitted to that.
With only three wins from seven this season, Amorim has not shown signs that he can stem the tide. Recently, he was used as a stick to beat Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch.
