Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde has been accused of attacking Villarreal youngster Alex Baena in the parking lot of the Santiago Bernabeu after Los Blancos’ 3-2 LaLiga loss.
Valverde is alleged to have waited for Baena in the parking lot of the stadium after the game and attacked the Spain U21 international with a punch after an altercation during the match that left the Real Madrid midfielder incensed.
Valverde attacks Villarreal player after awful Copa del Rey comments
The pair’s history of confrontation dates back to the Copa del Rey fixture between Real Madrid and Villarreal when Baena is alleged to have made a provocative comment towards Valverde.
Ahead of that cup game in January, Valverde’s wife, Mina Bonino, had suffered complications in her pregnancy, and the couple was close to losing their first child.

This was due to Baena saying to Valverde last match: "Cry now that your son is not going to be born." — another comment was repeated like this today, reports @marca. pic.twitter.com/3bE7vmvMhT
According to a report from Marca which credits sources close to Valverde, Baena is believed to have mocked the Uruguayan’s situation with the troubled pregnancy during the Copa del Rey match, saying “Cry now that your son is not going to be born,” after Valverde complained following a foul.
Baena intends to press charges against Valverde
It is also alleged that Baena repeated a similar statement in Villarreal’s LaLiga win over Real Madrid on Saturday, which led to the parking lot incident.
A video emerged of Baena leaving the stadium following the alleged incident with a swollen cheekbone, supposedly from the punch from Valverde.

The report also suggests that Baena will press charges against Valverde for the attack, with Villareal possessing footage of the alleged attack and hoping to present it as evidence in the event of a legal case.
