Chelsea star midfielder Cole Palmer has seemingly sent a message to fans of the club, dispelling the rumours which have linked him with a return to Manchester, with reports claiming he felt homesick.
Palmer shines against Wolves
As Pulse Sports reported, Cole Palmer etched his name deeper into Chelsea folklore on Saturday with another devastating individual display, producing a first-half hat trick in a 3-1 win over Wolves to break a long-standing club benchmark.
The former Manchester City forward delivered a ruthless performance at Stamford Bridge, brushing aside the achievements of some of the most celebrated figures in Chelsea’s modern history.
Palmer's hat-trick signalled a return to form after the England international had struggled with form this season, and he took the opportunity to address media reports surrounding his future.
Palmer's celebration
The 24-year-old is famed for his trademark “cold” celebration, which he recently branded. However, after scoring the first of his three goals, he ran towards the Chelsea fans at the away end, covering his ears with his hands, a gesture signifying that he was blocking noise or rumours.
Palmer was reportedly unsettled in London and was expected to push for a move in the summer amid claims that the attacker was willing to return to Manchester to be closer to his family.
Manchester United were linked as a likely destination, as Palmer had already played for the Blue half of the city and was a Red Devil fan growing up. However, his celebrations suggest that his heart lies in West London.
