'Nothing hurts more than missing out' - Akor Adams claims Super Eagles failed to bring joy to my people
Nigeria's World Cup aspirations were dashed in a dramatic African playoff final on Sunday night in Rabat.
The team fell 4-3 to the Democratic Republic of Congo in a penalty shootout after playing a 1-1 draw at full-time.
The loss meant that the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the World Cup for the second time in a row.
Adams expresses disappointment
Adams has stated that failing to bring joy to the nation in challenging times is a source of deep pain.
Reflecting on the loss, Adams took to social media to share his feelings. "As a Nigerian, nothing hurts more than missing out on what could bring the most joy to my people amidst all happening in our dear country," he posted.

Adams, who came on as a halftime substitute for the injured Victor Osimhen, successfully converted his spot-kick. Chidera Ejuke and Bruno Onyemaechi also scored from the spot for Nigeria.
However, misses from Calvin Bassey, Moses Simon, and Semi Ajayi proved costly, allowing the Leopards to hold their nerve and secure their ticket to the World Cup.
The penalty loss came as a bitter disappointment for Adams and his teammates, who were hoping to secure a World Cup ticket.
