Jinja Progressive targeting East African slot
Jinja Progressive Academy (JiPRA) is targeting a slot in the East Africa boys' schools games as teams gear up for the upcoming Uganda Secondary School Sports Association games (football boys) starting this week in Fort Portal.
The school's head coach Michael Seebagala intimated that his team has gained enough experience to match the big boys and will be going all out to reach the semifinal to earn the spot.
"We've done good preparations and one could see the improvement after we won the double," Ssebagala told Pulse Sports.
"Our aim is to reach at least the semifinal and qualify for the East African games for the first time in our history," he added.
JiPRA boasts a host of sprouting talents, including their captain James Jarieko who is attached to Onduparaka, Richard Okello (BUL and Uganda Under-17) and South Sudan Under-17 pair Alex Otheno and Innocent Rwothomio Odong.
The school outmuscled giants Jinja SSS to win both the district and Busoga Regional titles.
