It is hard - John Terry agrees with Chelsea fans on one key frustration
Chelsea legend John Terry has revealed that he attends away games as a fan and empathises with the supporters' frustrations.
Terry is a highly decorated English footballer who spent 19 years with Chelsea, winning numerous titles and breaking records.
What Terry said
Despite the team's impressive finish to the season, Terry acknowledges that the fans want more, especially after the club's trophy-laden era under Roman Abramovich.
Terry said, "I go to away games and stuff, I sit with the supporters and we talk about it. You get a different perspective on stuff because I know the money they are spending and the disparity between the fans and the players is getting bigger and bigger."
Terry believes that Chelsea needs a bit of experience in the team.
He said, "I feel they're a young bunch, I feel their recent form has been slightly off due to a lack of experience and we've lost a couple of the boys due to injury."
Despite the current challenges, Terry is optimistic about Chelsea's future, saying, "Do I think we'll get back to where we were? Yeah, I do. How long will that be? I'm not too sure. Only time will tell."
Chelsea will begin their FIFA Club World Cup campaign on Monday against LAFC.
