'I don't go where I'm not needed'- Onome Ebi speaks out on Super Falcons snub
Randy Waldrum’s team failed to qualify for the knockout face of the Paris 2024 Olympic women’s football event.
The team lost all three games in the group stage to Brazil, Spain and Japan, respectively, scoring only one goal in the competition.
Onome, who is one of the experienced players on the Super Falcons team, was left out of the tournament.
Onome on being snubbed
Last month, Super Falcons skipper furiously lashed out at those claiming she begged for an Olympics spot in a scathing attack on NFF and bloggers.
However, Onome has reacted to her omission from the Super Falcons Olympic team and has also denied rumours of her disrespecting the coach or the management.
The Super Falcons star posted on her X, saying, “My posts are never 4 Super Falcons or the NFF 🫡🇳🇬💪. I respect D players & all management of the team.
“Bloggers just find ways 2 put my name up 4 drag, which baffles me. Coach wanted younger players, and I respected that. I don't go where I'm not needed.

The defender has insisted that she respects the coach and the management despite not being called to the squad.
She has also warned that blogs are always twisting her words and trying to drag her name into the mud.
The Super Falcons will be hoping they can recover from their disappointing campaign in their next tournament.
