The Manchester United loanee registered six attempts on goal, five of which went off target, a statistic Flick believes highlights an area for improvement.

“When you see the chances he has, one or two goals more will be good, also for him. But we can be happy with him, of course. I am very happy with him,” Flick said after the match.

He continued, "He can play on this level and I am happy he shows it, for the fans, for the club, and also for his teammates. He is a very important player.”

Rashford’s goal helped Barcelona maintain their impressive domestic form under Flick, who continues to rebuild the squad’s attacking identity. The 26-year-old winger has been in fine form since joining from Manchester United on loan, tallying six goals and seven assists in 14 appearances across all competitions.

Despite leading the team in both categories, Rashford admitted after the match that he was “not entirely happy” with his overall performance against Elche.

“I try to give my best. I could have done better against Elche and I promise to improve because I’m not entirely happy with my performance overall.

"We work hard to win. We’re taking it one game at a time. This is Barça, and the demands must always be at their highest,” he said.

With Barcelona pushing to close the gap at the top of La Liga and making strides in Europe, Flick will hope Rashford’s growing confidence and hunger for improvement translate into even more decisive performances in the weeks ahead.
