‘He is only 26’ - EPL pundit urges Premier League clubs to take a chance on Osimhen
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan last season after a potential deadline-day transfer to Chelsea fell through, has been in sensational form.
The Nigerian international was instrumental in leading the Istanbul club to a domestic double, netting an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Despite widespread speculation linking him to a top English club, the former African Footballer of the Year made a surprise permanent switch to Galatasaray during the summer transfer window.
Crook wants Osimhen in the EPL
Crook expressed his astonishment that no Premier League team made a move for the 26-year-old, particularly given the high demand for proven centre-forwards in the league.
"Victor Osimhen scored 37 goals in 41 games last season on loan at Galatasaray. He has 11 in 15 this season," Crook stated on talkSPORT.
"He looks ready-made for the Premier League. I am surprised that nobody went for him. He is only 26."
His remarkable scoring has continued into the current campaign, with 12 goals in just 16 matches, further cementing his reputation as a dependable goalscorer.
Osimhen is currently representing the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Galatasaray star was in action for their first game against Tanzania, with Nigeria claiming a 2-1 win in the opening game.
If the Super Eagles progress to the final of the tournament, he could potentially miss up to five club matches.
