Ex-Leicester City star reveals reason for Alex Iwobi’s halftime substitution
Iwobi was in action for Fulham in their 2-0 victory over Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
However, after the halftime break, he did not surface for the second half and was substituted for Adama Traore.
The midfielder’s substitution did pay off in the game as his replacement went on to get his name on the score sheet.
Albrighton speaks on Iwobi’s substitution
Albrighton has disclosed that Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi was substituted at halftime after taking a hit during the game.
Speaking with Premier League World Feed, via Complete Sports, Albrighton said, “The change is because of an injury or a knock. Alex Iwobi, I think he was brilliant in this first half.
“Like I said, the linkup between him, Smith Rowe, and Robinson down this left-hand side was definitely where their best opportunities were being created, so I do think it has to be an injury.”
Iwobi has been exceptional for Fulham, having scored seven goals and provided three assists this season.
