El Clásico controversy: Fans slam 'disgusting' Real Madrid as 'sick' Rudiger antics spark furious calls for lengthy ban

Seville’s Copa del Rey final on Saturday night was meant to be a celebration of football’s fiercest rivalry, but it descended into chaos, with Real Madrid’s Antonio Rudiger at the heart of a shameful controversy. 

Barcelona’s throbbing 3-2 victory over Los Blancos, sealed by Jules Kounde’s jaw-dropping strike in added time, kept their treble dreams alive, marking their third El Clásico win this season.

Yet, the thrilling five-goal spectacle was overshadowed by a disgraceful display from Real Madrid, leaving fans seething and demanding justice.

As the final whistle blew, tempers flared. Three Real Madrid players, including Rudiger, were shown red cards off the pitch for unsportsmanlike conduct, with the German defender accused of hurling an object at the referee in a fit of rage. 

Social media exploded with fury, as fans branded the behaviour “sick and disgusting.” One X user fumed, “Rudiger’s an animal. This is beyond unacceptable—ban him for months!” 

Another wrote, “A team of entitled babies. Madrid’s regression into tantrum-throwing is embarrassing. Players, staff, even the board—shameful.”

The outrage didn’t stop there. Fans pointed to missed calls, claiming Barcelona were denied “at least three clear penalties” by officials who “turned a blind eye.” 

One supporter vented, “Madrid have no right to rage at the ref when Barca were robbed repeatedly!” 

Others linked the meltdown to a pattern, noting, “This isn’t new. From the Ballon d’Or ceremony to now, Madrid’s childish antics have spiralled. It’s a disgrace to their legacy.”

Rudiger’s actions, described as “vile” and “disrespectful,” have ignited calls for a lengthy suspension, with some urging La Liga to make an example of him. 

While Hansi Flick and Barcelona celebrate their victory, the spotlight burns on Real Madrid’s implosion, leaving fans and football lovers questioning whether this marks a new low for the once-proud club.
