'Cool parents loading' - Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and husband Andre expecting their first child
World champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and her husband Andre are going to be parents soon after announcing they're expecting their first child.
The American sprint queen took to her Instagram page to officially confirm the joyful news with the caption:
"Made a human with my favorite human 🥹
Oh, how we have prayed for you… and the Lord has answered!! You are our greatest blessing and are already so loved. We are eagerly waiting to meet you! 🫶🏽🤍 Cool parents loading…," she wrote.
McLaughlin-Levrone and her husband Andre, had a modern meet-cute in 2020, and they tied the knot just two years later.
He has been very supportive of her career right from when they started dating and has been to every one of her track meets.
At the Paris 2024 Olympics Games, where she successfully defended her 400mH title in a new World and Olympic Record of 50.37s - her sixth time breaking the WR in her career, Andre Levrone’s face was shown on the jumbotron as McLaughlin’s face visibly lit up. She later told NBC that having him in the crowd “means everything” to her.
“[He is] my best friend. My biggest supporter and my personal pastor,” she gushed. “I love him more than life itself.”
The same scenario played out at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships, where he was seen in the stands shouting and cheering her to victory in the women's 400m final, clocking a blistering 47.78s - the second fastest time in history.
With her pregnancy announcement, this means she would be out for the 2026 season and will make an expected comeback in 2027, ahead of the LA 2028 Olympic Games, where she'll possibly be doing the 400m / 400mH double.
