Sichenje joined Championship club Charlton on Monday and was issued with shirt No.28 before he hit the ground running by joining his new teammates in training.

The Kenyan defender expressed his excitement at his career switch after his €1.9 million (Ksh288.933 million) move from Serbian club FK Vojvodina and is hoping to be part of a successful project.

“It feels amazing to be here. It's a good club with good projects, and I'm ready to start working. It's a big step for my career, and it's a good opportunity to keep working and developing and help the team,” he said.

When Will Sichenje Make Charlton Debut?

The 22-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the club revealing that they signed the Kenyan defender earlier as he had been a summer target after monitoring him for long.

The former AFC Leopards defender, who also had stints in Greece and Finland before moving to Serbia in 2024, is hoping to make his debut this week when Charlton host Queens Park Rangers on Friday.

Sichenje is among seven new signings who are looking forward to making their debut at the Valley on Friday night with coach Nathan Jones having a selection headache of sorts in central defence.

The Kenyan defender faces a battle to start ahead of another new signing in English defender Conor Coady, who is much experienced, having captained Wolves in the Premier League and also played for Everton, Leicester City and most-recently Wrexham.
