Belgian club Genk are back in the Jupiler title race after an inspirational display from Ghana’s Joseph Paintsil.
Paintsil was in top form as Genk defeated Club Brugge 3-1 away from home to revive their title aspirations on Sunday evening.
The 25-year-old was the hero of the day as he netted two goals in either half to lead the club to a crucial win.
Paintsil outshines Onyedika, Arokodare
In what was a decisive encounter for both clubs, the Ghanaian forward came to the party with his shooting boots.
Club Brugge’s Raphael Onyedika was on the pitch but could not stop his team from another defeat before he was subbed off in the 89th minute.
For his compatriot Toluwalase Arokodare, it was a good day at the office as his Genk side emerged victorious courtesy of Paintsil.
The 22-year-old played a key role in one of the goals as he provided the pass that Paintsil latched on to fire Genk into the lead in the 12th minute.
Arokodare was on the pitch for 46 minutes and finished with one chance created which resulted in the opening goal.
Hans Vanaken did equalise for the home side but it turned out to be just a consolation as Patrik Hrosovsky and Paintsil added two more goals to seal a key win for Genk.

Genk are now just a point behind the duo of Royal Antwerp who sit top of the table with 46 points, the same as Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
All three will head into their final games of the season next weekend with all three still with a chance to lift the title. Genk will host Royal Antwerp while Union SG welcome Club Brugge,
