Cardi B breaks silence on boyfriend Steffon Diggs amid doubts over his NFL future following viral boat video

New England Patriots' high-profile wide receiver Stefon Diggs, finds himself at the centre of controversy after a viral video surfaced showing him on a yacht surrounded by women and an unidentified pink substance. 

The footage, which emerged over Memorial Day weekend, has raised questions about his conduct and potential impact on his career, especially given his recent signing with the Patriots.

In the video, Diggs is seen lounging shirtless on a yacht, engaging with three women who refer to him as "daddy."

 Towards the end of the clip, he produces a plastic bag containing a pink powdery substance, which one of the women takes from him. 

The video's release has ignited a firestorm of criticism online, with many questioning his professionalism and judgment.

The New England Patriots signed Diggs to a three-year, $63.5 million contract in March.

 However, reports suggest that the team is considering all options, including the possibility of ripping up his contract.

'I think all things are on the table and I think really - to me at least - it’s going to boil down to what Stef told [head coach Mike] Vrabel, and how believable it was,' Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated told 98.5 The Sports Hub.

Amid the swirling controversy, Cardi B, Diggs' girlfriend, has publicly shown her support.

 The Grammy-winning rapper who is currently embroiled in a divorce battle with her ex-husband Offset, took to social media to make her position absolutely clear.

Cardi shared a photo on her Instagram stories of her and Diggs seated at a New York Knicks game together weeks ago – when the pair seemingly hard launched their romance, captioning it simply: "Solid." 

Her post appears to reaffirm her commitment to Diggs despite the public scrutiny. 

As per Daily Mail, an insider close to the couple disclosed that Cardi B "doesn't want her man flirting with any ladies," suggesting her awareness of the situation.

Diggs, a four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, is currently recovering from a torn ACL that limited his 2024 season with the Houston Texans to just eight games.

His future with the Patriots is now uncertain, with the team reportedly considering his off-field behavior as part of their evaluation process. 

As stated earlier, the outcome may depend on his forthcoming discussions with Coach Vrabel and the team's assessment of his commitment to the franchise's values.
