Manager Thomas Frank's departure to Tottenham, captain Christian Nørgaard's move to Arsenal, goalkeeper Mark Flekken's transfer to Bayer Leverkusen, and star forward Bryan Mbeumo's switch to Manchester United have already reshaped the squad, and more changes could be on the horizon.

Yoane Wissa is the next player attracting significant interest, with Newcastle keen to secure his services.

However, Brentford is reluctant to lose another key player and, according to TalkSport, has rejected Newcastle's advances unless a bid of at least €50 million is tabled.

Newcastle recently offered approximately €35 million plus bonuses, a figure they deem acceptable for a 28-year-old player with one year remaining on his contract, plus a club option for a further 12 months.

However, Brentford, who finished 10th in the 2023-24 Premier League season, rejected the offer.

As a result, Wissa has refused to train with Brentford during pre-season until the club agrees to negotiate his departure.

TalkSport reports that Wissa and Brentford had an agreement allowing him to leave this summer for around €30 million (less than Newcastle's offer) after four years with the club. With the club seemingly reneging on this agreement, Wissa is taking a stand.

In addition to Newcastle, Saudi club NEOM are also interested in Wissa. However, the player is solely focused on remaining in the Premier League and playing in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in his career.

Wissa registered an impressive 20 goals and 5 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions last season.
