It is common knowledge in football that when you have money, you win things, and you can't win things when you don't.

Kit sponsorships have become a lucrative way for clubs to earn money in the modern era of the sport, and it is no surprise that the biggest teams in world football occupy this list.

This article examines the teams earning the most revenue from shirt sponsorship deals.

Real Madrid - Emirates Airlines (281 billion ugx)

'Los Blancos' renewed their current deal with the airline company in October 2022, which will continue their partnership until 2026, at the very least.

Emirates officially became the club's primary sponsor for the 13-time European champions in 2013, following two years as their global sponsor.

During that period, Real Madrid enjoyed great success on the pitch, winning 22 trophies, including five champions league titles.

Paris Saint Germain- Qatar Airways (281 billion ugx )

French champions PSG secured a multi-year sponsorship deal with airline giants Qatar Airways in 2022 after ending a four-year partnership with French hospitality company Accor.

Qatar Airways, the Parisian's premium sponsor, upgraded its package, which now includes the men's, women's and youth teams.

The deal also includes Qatar Airways holidays offering fan travel packages to Paris and Doha's Hamad International Airport, becoming the official airport of the club.

FC Barcelona- Spotify (251 billion ugx)

FC Barcelona signed a deal with music streaming site Spotify to become the club's official main sponsor, which began in 2022.

According to reports, this deal is intended to run for 12 years, with the club receiving 251 billion ugx  per season due to the shirt sponsorship.

With variables inserted in the contract, the Catalan club receives money rising each season which will see them earn close to 256 billion ugx  and 956 billion ugx over the next four years.

The club also receives an additional 19.7 billion ugx for three years as they sponsor its training kit.

Manchester City - Etihad Airways (225 billion ugx)

When Manchester City had initially signed its first deal with the official United Arab Emirates carrier, it became clear that the deal had become unprecedented.

A 1.8 trillion ugx deal worth ten years was initially signed in 2011, took over the main shirt sponsor in 2009 and the naming rights to the City of Manchester stadium to the Etihad two years later.

A new multi-year deal was signed at the end of the 2020- 21 season to extend their partnership, and it is set to continue for years to come.

Liverpool- Standard Chartered (225 billion ugx )

Liverpool renewed their long-standing partnership with Standard Chartered Bank in 2022 with a four-year deal that will see the existing partnership run until the 2026 season.

The bank first partnered with the Merseyside club in 2010 in a deal reportedly worth 86.8 billion over the next eight years.

A four-year extension was achieved in 2018 that raised the kitty to about 173 billion that would eventually expire at the end of the 2022-2023 season before agreeing to this latest deal that will take their partnership to 16 years at the end of the current deal.
