Gerard Piqué and Clara Chía breakup rumours DEBUNKED as Barca legend continues to enjoy romance post-Shakira split
Speculation surrounding the alleged breakup of former Barcelona star Gerard Piqué and Clara Chía Marti appears to be greatly exaggerated.
On Thursday, 24 April, Spanish morning show Vamos a Ver, hosted by Adriana Dorronsoro, claimed the former Spain international and his younger partner had officially called it quits, even suggesting a potential third party could be involved.
The revelation triggered a media frenzy and renewed interest in Piqué’s love life post-Shakira.
However, within hours, ¡HOLA! magazine delivered a sharp rebuttal after speaking to sources close to the couple.
“It’s all a lie,” one insider told the publication bluntly, adding that the two are still together and thriving amid Pique’s legal battle over accusations of fraud.
The source went further to say the pair are “tired of all the fake news” that continues to surround their relationship, ever since they made things official back in August 2022.
Despite a near-constant cycle of gossip, Piqué, 38, and Chía, 26, are reportedly unfazed by the chatter and remain committed.
From paparazzi photos to cryptic lyrics in Shakira’s post-split tracks, the couple has endured their fair share of public scrutiny.
But according to those in the know, the romance is still very much alive.
What fuelled the Pique and Clara Chia breakup reports?
According to journalist Pepe del Real, who spoke on El Programa de Ana Rosa, the root issue fuelling rumours of their breakup may not be cheating, but differing priorities.
Clara Chía allegedly wants to start a family, a step Piqué is reportedly unwilling to take.
While that may cause tension, it’s hardly confirmation of a split.
Further fuelling speculation was a recent sighting of Piqué with a redheaded woman in Miami, which tabloids reported as possible evidence of straying.
However, no credible source has confirmed the woman’s identity, let alone any romantic link.
It’s worth noting that Piqué and Chía’s romance started under intense media scrutiny following his highly publicised breakup with Shakira in 2022.
The Colombian music icon didn’t hold back in her music, referencing betrayal and heartbreak with lyrical precision.
Since then, Pique and Clara Chia have walked a delicate line between privacy and public curiosity.
But as of now, sources say the pair are still very much together.
