Ter Stegen who has reportedly been living apart from Daniela for two months, took to Instagram to categorically deny the rumours, calling them “false news” and accusing journalists of damaging his wife’s reputation.
The allegations first surfaced when respected journalist Juliana Canet, claimed that Ter Stegen had moved out of the family home due to Daniela’s supposed infidelity—an accusation that sent social media into a frenzy.
According to El Periodico, the German shot-stopper, who has been sidelined since September with a knee injury, had left their shared residence under the pretext of renovation works. In reality, it was suggested that he was distancing himself from Daniela’s betrayal.
But in a fiery Instagram post, the 32-year-old Barca captain shut down the allegations, calling out the media outlet responsible for the claims.
“I am shocked and disappointed by the poor management and lack of leadership at Catalunya Radio & 3Cat Group—distributing false news and violating personal rights,” he wrote.

“Juliana Canet, Roger Carandell, and Marta Montaner are liars that have distributed false news, offending my wife Daniela and her reputation publicly in a very bad manner.”

The goalkeeper, who has been married to Daniela since 2017, made it clear that while they are indeed separating, their split is amicable and not caused by any form of cheating.
“There has not been any infidelity of Daniela. Fact,” he continued.
“As communicated, Dani and I have decided to go different ways in good circumstances where we maintain trustful communication.
"It is completely unacceptable that the leading government-owned media is spreading this, where Daniela is being falsely accused and personally attacked. The damage is irreparable.”

The love story between Ter Stegen and Daniela dates back to 2012 when they met while he was playing for Borussia Mönchengladbach and she was studying architecture.
After five years of dating, they tied the knot in a private ceremony in Sitges, Spain, and later welcomed two children—five-year-old Ben and one-year-old Tom.
The allegations come at an already difficult time for Ter Stegen, who has been struggling with his long-term injury.
