Xavi Simons: Tottenham complete €60m signing of Chelsea top target from RB Leipzig
Xavi Simons has completed a move to Premier League side Tottenham for €60m, despite being linked with a move to Chelsea for several weeks.
The 22-year-old Netherlands international has signed a five-year contract with an option for two more seasons.

Spurs turned to Simons to bolster head coach Thomas Frank's attacking options after missing out on deals for Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze. His arrival comes after the significant setback of losing James Maddison to a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The Netherlands international became available this summer, despite only making a permanent move to the Bundesliga club from Paris Saint-Germain in January for a €50 million fee.
This transfer represents a key acquisition for Spurs, who have already secured the permanent signings of attackers Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel, as well as the loan arrival of Joao Palhinha.
Simons brings a wealth of experience for his age, having spent time at Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, as well as with Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven, and Leipzig.
