“The best of the best,” CAF posted on their X.com account. “Player of the Year (MEN) award - Final 3,” it added.

The fans took to the comment section of the post to express themselves, with the list described as a joke and shame by some of them.

CAF’s list has been criticised by the fans who have mostly voiced their opinions on the absence of Morocco and Sevilla’s goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou.

Bounou, who was brilliant for club and country, Morocco, who made it to the semifinal of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, is said to have done enough to be included in the final three.
