Augustine Eguavoen has declared that the Super Eagles cannot afford to lose against Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Nigeria currently trails South Africa by six points in Group C, and victory here will cut South Africa's lead to three, putting Eric Chelle's men in a position to dream again.
Eguavoen declares Nigeria vs South Africa a must-win
Eguavoen stated that while they have respect for South Africa, the Super Eagles are determined to beat their hosts.
The team will be without the services of star forward Victor Osimhen, who is unavailable due to injury. However, Tolu Arokodare is expected to lead the line, and after his goal against Rwanda, Nigerians are expecting him to deliver.
"Of course, it’s a massive game; we have no choice, Nigeria has no choice. We respect South Africa, but we are gunning for three points, simple as that," Eguavoen was quoted as saying by FARPOST.
Tuesday’s encounter, a pivotal clash for both nations, is slated for the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein, and will kick off at 6 pm local time (5 pm Nigerian time).
