David De Gea had his moments, but Manchester United's latest transfer target looks even worse

Manchester United’s deal for Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is still a matter of speculation, but fans of the club have already uncovered a fail compilation of the Fenerbahce number one, which should cause worry for the Red Devils’ recruitment team.

Manchester United progress in deal to sign Bayindir

Bayindir is believed to be a major option for Manchester United as a back-up to replace Dean Henderson, who is expected to leave the club before the end of the summer transfer window, but the Turkish goalkeeper’s floundering in front of goal leaves much to be desired.

The Red Devils are reportedly eyeing a €5 million move for the Turkish goalkeeper after missing out on Ghanaian-Japanese star Zion Suzuki as a back up goalkeeper for the new season.

Transfer specialist David Ornstein noted that Bayindir is in contention for a place at Old Trafford, with a pre-medical booked in case Manchester United need to move fast in the closing days of the transfer window, but fans of the Red Devils revolted against the signing, when the possibility was announced, including an X user who posted the clip.

Fans cry over terrible Bayindir compilation

X user @casualfan_ reposted the clip, just over one minute long, which shows Bayindir committing a cacophony of errors including twice allowing relatively easy freekicks to spill over the goal line despite the ball already being in his arms.

Bayindir, who is also Fenerbahce’s captain, has come under heavy criticism from fans of Fener for recent performances, with the club even considering replacing him with former Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, leading many Manchester United fans to wonder why their club is after the Turkey international.

The 25-year-old kept nine clean sheets in 26 Turkish Super Lig appearances for Fenerbahce last season with a save percentage of only 66.7%, which is ore reason why Manchester United fans should be worried about their future acquisition even if he will only be a back up option to Andre Onana.
