Napoli and Victor Osimhen have reportedly reached an agreement for the Nigerian striker to continue at the club until 2026

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly set to sign a much-awaited contract extension with reigning Serie A champions Napoli.

Osimhen set to sign new Napoli deal

Osimhen was instrumental in Napoli’s first Serie A title in 33 years, scoring 26 goals in 32 appearances for the Partenopei during their historic run.

The striker has now been rewarded with a bumper contract by the Partenopei, which he is about to sign any day now.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Osimhen is going to sign his contract before Christmas after agreeing to the new contract verbally.

Osimhen finally set to pen new contract

Osimhen’s continuance with Napoli had been under threat after the Nigerian striker had not been able to agree to terms with the club since July when talks for a new contract started.

However, these fears have been quelled by recent reports that Osimhen will sign a new deal before the Yuletide holiday.

The new contract for Osimhen will reportedly be valid until 2026 and contain a bumper salary for the Super Eagles star.

It will also contain an expected release clause, rumoured to be £112 million, while the Nigerian forward will also not be leaving Naples until at least the summer.

Despite the high release clause, Osimhen continues to attract interested suitors, with Chelsea reportedly leading the line for the Napoli striker’s capture.
