Nigeria's Victor Boniface celebrated his fourth match in the Europa League with a goal for Bayer Leverkusen.

The Nigerian was only on the pitch for 46 minutes but made an impact as Bayer Leverkusen made it five wins in five in the UEFA Europa League, UEL.

Boniface netted the opener while Patrik Schick, who came off the bench to replace Nathan Tella, netted the winner to help Leverkusen to a routine 2-0 victory against Hacken on Thursday.

In what was his fourth match of the season in the Europa League, the 22-year-old needed just 14 minutes to make his mark.

Following a bright start by the Bundesliga side, Boniface was at the right place and time to head home from a Josip Stansic cross to put Bayer in front.

That goal was his fourth of the season in Europe’s second-tier competition but the first for the striker in five games for club and country.

The goal against Hacken was his only effort in the game and it proved to be the foundation for another win in the end for Xabi Alonso’s excellently drilled Die Werkself.

Nigeria’s Boniface was substituted just before the start of the second half after he picked up an unnecessary yellow card just moments after his goals.

He completed 91% of his passes and won 100% of his tackles before he watched the rest of the match as a spectator on the bench.
