This article will explain Sadiq Umar’s daughter did not wear a hijab in his latest post, which has forced the player to turn off the comments section.

According to Learn Religions, the word hijab is pre-Islamic, from the Arabic root h-j-b, which means to screen, to separate, to hide from sight, to make invisible.

In modern Arabic languages, the word refers to a range of women's proper dress, but none of them includes a face covering.

Although the Quran doesn't explicitly say women should be veiled or secluded from participation in public life, oral traditions say that the practice was originally just for the Prophet Muhammad's wives.

However, in modern societies, being forced to wear a veil is a rare and recent phenomenon.

Until 1979, Saudi Arabia was the only Muslim-majority country that required that women be veiled when going out in public—and that law included both native and foreign women regardless of their religion.

Today, veiling is legally imposed on women in only four countries: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sudan, and the Aceh Province of Indonesia.

That being said, the age at which women begin wearing the veil varies with culture.

In some societies, wearing a veil is limited to married women - in others, girls begin wearing the veil after puberty, as part of a rite of passage indicating they are now adults, while some start quite young.

But in most Muslim and non-Muslim countries, women have the legal freedom to choose whether or not to veil, and what fashion of veil they choose to wear.

The photo which was recently posted by Sadiq Umar was taken at the Aneota Stadium, in San Sebastian, Spain.

Firstly, Spain is not a Muslim country and as such young girls are not mandated to wear hijab.

Another reason is that Umar’s daughter, who is barely 6 years old is not mandated to wear a Hijab at all because she is simply not of age to be held accountable for not wearing it.

According to Islamqa.info the hijab could become mandatory at the age of accountability.

A person is not considered to be accountable until after reaching puberty.

Based on this, then a female is not mandated to put on a complete hijab before puberty.
