FKFPL Truth about Erick Kapaito's move to Tusker

Festus Chuma 06:29 - 18.08.2023

2020-2021 FKFPL Golden Boot winner set to elevate the squad's offensive power alongside other talented strikers.

Harambee Stars striker Erick Kapaito's contract length at Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Tusker FC has been unveiled, shedding light on his future with the club.

Contrary to earlier reports suggesting a loan move from Zambian outfit Zanaco FC, the 27-year-old goal-scoring sensation has penned a definitive one-year deal with the Brewers.

The revelation comes as a surprise to many, especially after Kapaito's brief stint with Zanaco where he was unveiled but ultimately never took to the pitch due to unresolved financial matters.

Tusker, in an official statement, enthusiastically announced Kapaito's arrival, "Ladies and gentlemen, help us in welcoming the 2020-21 FKF Premier League Golden Boot and Most Valuable Player, Eric Kapaito, to Tusker FC. Kapaito has signed a one-year contract at Ruaraka."

The deal, which was quietly sealed amidst speculations and anticipation, underlines the club's belief in Kapaito's prowess and his potential to create a powerful impact on the pitch.

Kapaito's recent journey in the football world has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride.

After the relegation of Arba Minch City FC from the Ethiopian Premier League in July, Kapaito found himself clubless.

His time in Ethiopia had been marked by a determined spirit as he featured in 21 out of 30 league games last season, managing to net four goals.

This journey began in September 2021 when he joined Arba Minch City FC, signing a two-year contract.

His exceptional performance prior to that, boasting an impressive 24 goals for FKF Premier League side Kairobangi Sharks.

However, he will have his work cut out for him upon his arrival at Ruaraka with stern competition for the forward line slots at the 12-time FKF Premier League champions.

Deogratious Ojok, James Mwangi, and Ibrahim Joshua are all possible options for the Brewers and will undoubtedly push Kapaito to the limit for a spot in the starting XI.
