Former Manchester City defender Gael Clichy has highlighted a weakness in Pep Guardiola's side ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.

Former Arsenal and Manchester City defender, Gael Clichy has offered a potential avenue for the Gunners to exploit against Manchester City this weekend.

City are just two points behind the Gunners in what has become a three-horse race, including Liverpool, and this game could certainly have huge ramifications for the title's destination.

Clichy, who has played for both sides and was a key part of the side that won the league under Manuel Pellegrini understands what it takes to be in a title race.

The ex-City man shared his thoughts on the game and identified Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli as two Arsenal players who could pose a threat to Guardiola's men.

Clichy exposes Manchester City's weakness

“I think it would be a terrible mistake for Mikel [Arteta] to try and play on the counter and leave the ball to Manchester City,” Clichy told Super 6.

"I think if there is one club that can match what City have been doing over the last decade, it is Arsenal.

The weakness in the Man City team is when they are in possession, they often lose the second ball and can be hurt on transition.

“Players like Saka and Martinelli can hurt City on the transition. Keeping the ball and using the space behind it could be the key. If there is one team that is capable of going there and getting the points, it is Arsenal.”

Manchester City are yet to lose a game at the Etihad across all competitions this season, and will hope to keep that streak going after 90 minutes on Sunday.
