SuperSport, other South African clubs dominate most stable teams in Africa list

This list ranks teams according to the number of players fielded in their domestic leagues with clubs from South Africa leading.

South African clubs have been rated as the most stable teams in the world and Africa.

This comes following a report by CIES Football Observatory which rated clubs in the DStv Premier League as the most stable in Africa.

The list was revealed in the latest issue of the CIES Football report, ranking teams in 75 leagues across the world.

The Teams

According to CIES Football, SuperSport United are the most stable team on the continent in the last five years.

SuperSport have used a total of 66 players in that period, the least by any team in Africa.

They have also used 36 players in the last 12 months, making them the third most stable in the last 52 weeks and 135 players used in the last 10 years.

Golden Arrows are the next on the list with 67 players but have only used 34 in the last year. They have also deployed 155 players in the last 10 years.

Other teams

The other team on the list is the Amakhosi, Kaizer Chiefs, who have used 72 players in the period under review, 41 players in the last year and 108 in the last decade.

Cape Town City comes in at fourth with a total of 74 players used in five years but have the most stable side in the last year with 30.

Kaizer Chiefs have used 108 players in the last 10 years.

Giants Mamelodi Sundowns complete the top five with 75, 44 and 122 players used in the last five, 12 months and decade respectively.

The World

In terms of the ranking for the world, Swedish side Halmstads BK are the most stable with 44 players followed by English champions Manchester City, who have used 47 players and Athletic Club with 49 players.

Borussia Mochengladbach, with 51 players and Liverpool FC, with 51, complete the list at the top.
