Shabana praised for passion, faces FKF sanctions due to fan misconduct as the club urges discipline.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Shabana FC finds itself at the center of attention not only for its on-field performance but also for the behavior of a faction of its passionate fanbase.

Tore Bobe, renowned for its passionate and dedicated fan base, has recently received a stern warning from the FKF regarding the behavior of some of its supporters during matches.

While FKF acknowledges the enthusiasm Shabana's fans bring to the league, they have expressed deep concerns over incidents of unruly conduct by a section of the club's supporters.

In response to the FKF's warning, Shabana has released a statement, imploring its fans to maintain decorum and ensure a positive matchday experience.

“It's been over 3 (three) months since our promotion back to FKF Premier League. With reference to the letter from FKF, concerns have been raised about the behavior of a section of fans during our matches, both at home and away,” the club expressed in a statement that showcased a delicate balance between gratitude and admonition.

Shabana, known for its passionate and mobilised fan base, acknowledged the pivotal role played by supporters in sustaining the team and inspiring players to perform at their zenith.

"We are aware that feelings can get intense during goal celebrations, but we appeal to each fan to keep in mind the principles that guide our team," the statement emphasized.

The club went on to announce the implementation of stricter measures to identify and penalise individuals or branches involved in disruptive behavior during matches. This move aligns with Shabana's commitment to fostering an environment that is not only electric but also respectful and safe for all stakeholders involved.

“Let's celebrate the sports we all love and support our players in the most positive and uplifting way possible. By doing so, we can create an atmosphere that inspires our team and makes every fan proud to be associated with Shabana FC,” the statement concluded, appealing to the collective responsibility of the fans in shaping the club's image and legacy.

FKF acknowledged the undeniable hype and excitement that Shabana supporters injected into the FKF Premier League since their promotion, but it also pointed out the dark clouds overshadowing this enthusiasm.

"FKF would like to bring to your attention a matter of great concern regarding the behaviour of a section of sour fans during recent FKF-PL matches. It has been noted and reported by the FKF Safety and Security department that there have been instances of a section of your fans throwing objects and invading the pitch during celebrations, which are both dangerous and disruptive to the game," the federation's letter stated.

As the FKF closely monitors the conduct of Shabana's fans, it remains to be seen how the stricter measures promised by the club will be implemented and whether they will effectively deter disruptive behavior.
