Shabana and AFC Leopards played to a one-all draw, with Peter 'Maestro' Ogechi's bullet header cancelling out Brian Yakhama's penalty.

Peter 'Maestro' Ogechi's bullet header cancelled out Brian Yakhama's early penalty to consign both sides to a draw.

Shabana and AFC Leopards were unable to get the better of each other as they drew 1-1 at a packed Ulinzi Sports Complex in an FKPL encounter on Sunday afternoon.

Shabana had the opportunity to draw first blood when Enock Agwanda sent a powerful throw-in towards the net which forced AFC Leopards custodian Levis Opiyo into making an excellent save in the 10th minute.

In the 13th minute, Leopards got their first real opportunity after winning a foul in the box, which was expertly converted by Brian Yakhma to put them ahead.

Their lead would not last long, as in the 24th minute, Peter 'Ogechi' Maestro restored parity from a corner kick situation, heading a thumping bullet header into the back of Levis Opiyo's net.

They should have taken the lead again in the 32nd minute from a corner kick, as Ogechi tried another shot at AFC Leopards' goal, but this time, he was not as successful.

The game ended 1-1 heading into the break, with both coaches needing answers to put their respective sides ahead.

Musa Oundo excecuted a neat strike from outside the box, but it sailed just wide right after the break.

The game continued being edgy, with no real chances being created by either side.

In the 70th minute, Cliff Nyakeya nearly gave Shabana problems. He received a defense splitting pass from Boniface Kweya, before taking on two of his men successfully and then whipped in a dangerous cross into the area, but it was deflected wide for a corner kick.

In the end, both sides had to settle for a 1-1 draw, which leaves them languishing in the bottom half of the table.
