Odada features but fails to prevent Aalborg avoid defeat to Hobro.

Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada came on as a substitute as Aalborg lost 2-1 to Hobro, putting their lead at the top of the Danish First Division playoff table in slight jeopardy.

Odada, who has scored four goals and registered one assist in 19 games this season since signing on loan from American side Philadelphia Union, featured for 14 minutes, and he has now appeared off the bench for several games. The game began with Aalborg creating some promising chances in the first half.

Players like Diego Caballo, Melker Widell, Malthe Højholt, and Mathias Jørgensen had opportunities to score but failed to convert them into goals.

On the other hand, Hobro managed a couple of passes and shots, with some being blocked by Aalborg's defense.

The second half saw limited scoring opportunities until the 87th minute when Jubril Adedeji broke the deadlock for Aalborg.

Adedeji capitalized on a rebound from Mathias Jørgensen's shot, scoring his first goal for Aalborg and putting them ahead 1-0, much to the delight of the 1,300 traveling Aalborg fans.

However, Hobro struck back in added time, capitalizing on a defensive error from Aalborg. Rody de Boer made an initial save, but the rebound fell to Mathias Kristensen, who scored from a distance, leveling the score at 1-1.

Hobro sealed their victory with a late goal, as Frederik Christensen headed in a cross from close range, making it 2-1.

Despite the disappointing result, Aalborg remains at the top of the NordicBet League table with 55 points.

They are three points clear of second-placed Sønderjyske and a significant 17 points ahead of third-placed FC Fredericia.

Aalborg will look to bounce back when they face off against FC Fredericia on Sunday, aiming to maintain their lead at the top of the table.
