A tweep had claimed that K'Ogalo would not beat Nairobi City Stars if Odinga was at the match venue.

Former Gor Mahia national treasurer Sally Bolo has hit out at a tweep who claimed former Prime Minister Raila Odinga always brings a bad omen to the club's games.

The tweep had claimed Gor Mahia would fumble in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) race should Odinga attend, a comment that Bolo described as 'silly'

Gor Mahia went on to win the league after beating Nairobi City Stars 4-1 at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.

"This is a very silly perception and/or myth. Raila Odinga has been attending Gor Mahia FC matches since 1968, and we have won almost all the matches when he was in attendance," Bolo replied on Twitter.

"Are you aware that in recent times, Gor Mahia have beaten giant teams like Zamalek of Egypt, (Petro) Atletico of Angola, Hussein Dey of Algeria, etc. in CAF competitions by scoring goals of two and above at Kasarani Stadium in the presence of Raila Odinga? Back home, how many times did it take the AFC Leopards to beat us?

"Seven good years, yet Baba never missed attending Gor Mahia vs AFC Leopards matches."

Meanwhile, Bolo was thankful to the former Lang'ata Member of Parliament for rewarding K'Ogalo after winning the league.

"Raila Odinga presented the club with Ksh1.5 million for winning their 20th league title. Unfortunately, due to the lack of a title sponsor, the 2022–23 league winners did not receive any prize money from FKF Premier organizers," she said.

"I'm hoping that the federation will take action next season. Thank you for always being there for the team, Raila Odinga. We appreciate everything you've done."

K'Ogalo were also rewarded by ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo, who gave out Ksh3 million.
