A recent report reveals that the Chelsea squad believes Mauricio Pochettino disrespected Thiago Silva.

Members of the Chelsea dressing room have reportedly expressed feelings of discontent towards Mauricio Pochettino, believing that the manager had shown disrespect towards veteran defender Thiago Silva earlier in the season.

Signs of Disrespect

Reports from Express.UK emerged that certain Chelsea players were taken aback by Pochettino's decision to appoint Reece James as the club's captain for the season, with Ben Chilwell named as vice-captain.

This decision was perceived as disrespectful towards Silva, considering his wealth of experience and leadership qualities both at PSG and with the Brazil national team.

Despite the perceived snub, Thiago Silva maintained his professionalism and leadership on the pitch.

When both James and Chilwell were sidelined with injuries, Conor Gallagher stepped up as captain in their absence.

Emotional Farewell

Silva recently took to social media to announce his departure from Chelsea at the end of the season, expressing his gratitude for the club and leaving the door open for a potential return in a different capacity.

His emotional farewell video highlighted the impact of his time at Stamford Bridge, including winning the prestigious Champions League title.

Despite bidding farewell, Silva expressed his hope of returning to Chelsea in the future, indicating a deep-rooted connection and love for the club.

His aspirations to contribute in a different role underscore his desire to remain part of the Chelsea family beyond his playing career.
