The Spanish champions will not get the chance to do a league and cup double this season after they were thrown out of the Spanish Cup.
Barcelona Femeni have been thrown out of this year’s Copa De La Reina after fielding an ineligible player in their round of 16 clash against Osasuna.
Barcelona were on course to retain the trophy they won last year after beating Osasuna 9-0 in the round of 16.
Barcelona's win over Osasuna counts for nothing
The Blaugranes have been the dominant team in the competition and they continued in the same way against Los Rojillos.

However, that win has now come at a cost as they fielded an ineligible player in the win. According to Samuel Marsden, Barcelona were thrown out after they playing Geyse da Silva Ferreira in the game.
Sevilla suffer the same fate
Geyse joined Barcelona from Real Madrid this season, but the Brazilian had a ban in place with Los Blancos.
However, Barcelona went ahead to play the 24-year-old in the 6-0 win over Osasuna, and as a result have been thrown out of the competition.
It is a big blow for Jonatan Giráldez’s ladies as they had won the competition in the last three years, including a 6-1 win over Huelva last season.
The decision to throw Barcelona out means Osasuna progress to the quarter-final despite losing 9-0. Barcelona were not the only side thrown out of the competition, though.

Sevilla also suffered the same fate as the Spanish champions as they also fielded an ineligible player in their win against Villarreal.
It means the Yellow Subamrines also progress to the next round at the expense of Sevilla. With Barcelona’s exit, Atletico Madrid are now the favourites to win the competition.
