Organizers unveils 12 clubs for Naija Super 8

The clubs were picked after a rigorous voting process by football fans in the country.

The organizers of the Naija Super 8 have unveiled 12 clubs for the maiden edition of the tremendous entertainment football championship.

Pulse Sports reported that the 12 football clubs, two from each of the nation's six geopolitical zones, will compete in the zonal play-offs.

The play-offs to determine zonal representatives will take place from June 23 to June 25 at the Eket Township Stadium in Akwa Ibom State.

12 clubs set to battle for Super 8

Metropolis FC of Abuja and Lobi Stars will represent the North Central zone, while Yobe Stars and Gombe United will symbolize the North East.

In the southeast, Enyimba FC and Heartland FC will be flying the flag of the region. In South South, Rivers United, and Bendel Insurance are voted for.

The North West football giants, Kano Pillars, and Katsina United, will be flying the flag of the region, while Remo Stars and Shooting Stars are voted for to represent the Southwest.

Remo Stars have drawn the last four matches in the NPFL.

The clubs were picked after a rigorous voting process by football fans in the country.

At the unveiling, football legends, Tijani Babangida, Mutiu Adepoju, Ike Shorunmu, Jonathan Akpoborie, Garba Lawal, Austin Eguavoen, Victor Ezeji, and Julius Aghahowa were present.

The Naija Tremendous 8 playoff, which is a knockout format, would see eight groups qualify for the competition, which begins on July 7 at the Mobolaji Jhonson Stadium, Lagos.
