Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has been sidelined for a long period of time after sustaining a knee injury against West Ham.

The midfielder has been one of the Gunners' key players in recent years, leading them to challenge for the Premier League title.

However, this season, he has been hampered by injuries, which have seen him miss some key games.

He recently returned from a shoulder injury he suffered Nottingham Forest, coming in as a substitute in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Newcastle, but has now been ruled out for weeks due to a knee injury he sustained against West Ham.

Odegaard out until November

Following the captain's recent injury, the club feared their star player would be ruled out for months after leaving the stadium with braces on his knee.

However, the club received positive news on his injury after he underwent a scan to determine the extent of his issue.

According to reports from Sami Mokbel on X, “Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is not expected to return to action until after the November international break due to an MCL injury. He is set to miss a minimum of nine key games for club and country.”

Odegaard's injury is a significant setback for manager Mikel Arteta, considering his crucial role in the team.

He is set to miss upcoming Premier League fixtures against Fulham, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Sunderland, as well as Champions League clashes with Atletico Madrid and Slavia Prague.

His availability for the North London derby against Tottenham on November 23, immediately following the international break, remains uncertain.
