NNL: Top 5 performers as Puskas-worthy goals lift Sporting Lagos past Ijebu

Sporting Lagos are looking good in the Nigeria National League, NNL, after a brilliant outing at home inspired by the duo of Orji and Kalu.

Sporting Lagos are looking quite good in the NNL following a brilliant home win at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday.

Sporting defeated their visitors Ijebu United 2-1 with their superstars, Gabriel Kalu and Chisom Orji the heroes for the hosts.

Both players showed why they are the club’s most recognisable stars after scoring two goals worthy of Puskas nominations.

Orji broke the deadlock with an excellent goal from 25 yards to put Sporting ahead before Kalu came off the bench to score the decisive winner late on with another stunning effort from 25 yards.

Sporting Lagos are looking comfy at the top of the table.

#12, Orji (Sporting Lagos): Lively, always threatening, and scored a sublime goal.

Chisom Orji was superb for Sporting Lagos again at home.

#6, Onyemaechi (Sporting Lagos): Battling performance in midfield. He was everywhere. He was strong with his tackles, won duels on the ground and in the air, and passed well.

#37, Ajisafe Wasiu (Ijebu United): Ran the game in midfield. Impressive on the ball, made solid decisions on the ball, and ensured Ijebu had a base for their attacks.

#20, Oluwamakinde Talabi (Ijebu): Scored a sublime volley to draw Ijebu level. Impressive in midfield, with good vision and decision-making.

#15, Patrick Egeonu (Sporting Lagos): Solid at the back. Bailed Sporting out of trouble numerous times and was unbeatable 1v1. Very calm in possession. Super defensive display. Battling performance.
