Nkechi Obi set to identify challenges facing Women's League

Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) appointed Nkechi Obi to head the NWFL, with Hajiya Hussaina Suleman as vice chairman.

The newly appointed chairperson of the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) Nkechi Obi unveiled her plans on how to put a lasting solutions to the challenges facing the League.

Recall that the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) appointed Nkechi Obi to head the NWFL, with Hajiya Hussaina Suleman as vice chairman.

Alhaja Rukayat Lola Alaya, former FIFA referee Hadiza Musa, Mr. Ayodele Thomas, Ms Henrietta Ehiobor and Mr. Danny Nazzal will be members of the board.

The renowned marketing expert disclosed that the first step she and her team will take is to identify the problems facing the league and proffer solutions to them.

She added that she will incorporate all stakeholders to be part of the process of developing the league.

According to her, "We will start by interrogating the situation, let's interrogate the whole system, it may not impact too much in the next season but the most critical thing is there must be an interrogation of this is where coming from and this is where we want to go and start a new life.

"I am a strong believer in stakeholder engagement, all stakeholders in women's football should be identified and bring them on board to engage them to see women's football as another platform to spread their spots.

"I and the board will find a way to bring people who are passionate about women's development to come to support the women's football League."

The board will be inaugurated once the President of the NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau returns to the country from continental assignments.
