National Youth Games: Ogun to battle Lagos in Women Football Final

The South west derby final is scheduled to take place on Friday at the Jay Jay Okocha Stadium in Ogwachi-Uku.

The Ogun State representative, the gateway girls defeated Abia State girls in the semi final to at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.

This comes after the gateway girls graciously defeated the Adamawa State in Quarter Finals.

The Gateway Girls defeated Abia Angels 3-1 to advance to the final of the Women Football.

Adeyanju Damilola continued with her impressive goal scoring as she bagged a brace, and Dosunmi Temitope's lone goal was all the girls needed to defeat the Aba based girls.

Damilola has recorded five goals leading the goal chart in the tournament, following her two goals against Abia state.

On the other part, Lagos defeated Cross Rivers in the second semi final to book a place with Ogun in the Women's Football.

Ogun coach applauds Ogun FA for good results

Adeniyi Adeyinka, Head coach for Ogun State, commended the efforts of Ogun Football Academic Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi for his well trained he has showered on the players before the tournament.

"A special appreciation goes to the FA chairman who has proved himself as a member of the NFF, his support in preparing the girls for this game really helped, he sponsored the team to a tour in Ondo state before camping us in Sagamu and with this we are going for Gold as we have all it takes to win it," he said.
